What to do with a spare water pump

Do you carry a spare water pump?

Our two year old Sureflo Extreme 5.7 works fine. [knocking on...] All of the reports about this pump failing caused us to order a spare.

Not wanting $150 just laying around in the bin, I decided to put it to
use. Some vinyl tubing, hose clamps and hose adaptors turn it into an
outdoor washing facility. Hoses are connected to each side of the
pump. One end goes into a stream or lake, the other rinses off the
toad. Yet to do is to add a intake strainer/filter.

You will note it is mounted to a piece of wood and is ready to connect to any battery.

  1. You might want to install an intake filter to prevent crud in the water from jamming the check valves
